The destiny of a school, its students, teachers, and parents lie firmly in the hands of those who lead and manage it. The better equipped they are to conduct reliable self-assessments the more capable they will be to steer schools toward becoming quality institutions.
Effective schools understand that school improvement is a process, not an event. It begins with extensive documentation, gathering, and validation of data against evidence, and rigorous self-assessment resulting in school improvement plans.
This assessment will be used to accredit the Schools to provide quality benchmarks in the concept, establishment, and running of effective systems within an institution by changing socio-economic and cultural contexts including new research.
The National Education Policy (NEP) 2020 in India emphasizes the need for a robust school quality assessment framework to ensure the assurance of education standards. It suggests implementing a system that evaluates schools based on various parameters such as infrastructure, teacher quality, learning outcomes, and overall educational environment. The aim is to promote accountability, transparency, and continuous improvement in the quality of education across schools
Accreditation is a means of demonstrating confidence in the school's purpose, performance, and human and financial resources, The goals are effectiveness, improvement, and public assurance.
